Water Quality Health Advisory Lifted For Withlacoochee River

DOH-MADISON ISSUES HEALTH ADVISORY NEAR WITHLACOOCHEE RIVER 

Madison, Fla.—  The Florida Department of Health in Madison County (DOH-Madison) is lifting the advisory for possible high bacterial levels in the Withlacoochee River.


Tests completed on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, and Friday, April 19, 2024, indicate that the water quality at the Withlacoochee River show an acceptable level of Enterococcus bacteria established by state guidelines. Test results are available at https://floridadep.gov/dear/watershed-monitoring-section/content/suwannee-river-basin-sampling-locations


Please be reminded that if you have a well and experienced flooding, it is recommended that you have your well water tested.
